About St. Croix Sheep

St. Croix sheep are a docile hair sheep breed from the Carribean. They are a hardy breed known for high internal parasite resistance and heat tolerance. Their hair coat sheds in the summer months so they don't require shearing. They are prolific breeders, often having twins and can lamb twice a year. They are known to produce mild, lean meat. They are excellent foragers making them popular for low-input farming and weed contorol. They are polled, hornless, and come in white, brown, or black, with rams often having a lion-like mane.

About Us

We are a family-owned farm that has been active for over 100 years in Schulenberg, Fayette County, Texas. In 2024 we changed our operation from cattle to St. Croix sheep, and our only regret is not having switched many years earlier.
